I was commissioned by the Director of Classroom Technology Support on the CU Denver/Anschutz campus to create a series of videos. I formed a team of three and used the ADDIE framework to guide the creation of the requested product.
We analyzed incoming Service Desk support tickets and determined that a large portion of classroom technology-related calls were users requesting simple guidance on how to use the in-room AudioVisual systems. After the analysis, we determined that we needed simple, just-in-time job aids that were accessible and useful to users in the moment. Voice narration was specifically NOT included as other materials were made available for those with auditory or visual accessibility needs.
Our goal was to reduce Service Desk calls requesting in-room technology help, and we found that a simple video tutorial guide achieved this goal, reducing Service Desk calls by nearly 30% within the first six months of rollout.
The series was shot using an iPhone and I completed the edits, animations and post-production in Camtasia.
